Based on true events, Rain No Evil is quite a chilling tale of a families encounter with evil spirits invading their home and mind. I know for sure if I was experiencing the terror and psychological traumas the spirits were causing the family I would have been running for the hills, but they bravely stayed put to see it out to the bitter end.
The story has a humorous side but also brings a dark side to the family's plight and as unexplained events start to unfold you become embroiled in the family's fight to defeat the spirits. Her two sons bring warmth to the story as the youngest seemed to be one of the spirits targets, along with his mother, and the eldest was his little brothers reluctant protector.
Their personal story behind closed doors was totally different to one that was portrayed in the local community as the father, a well respected police officer, turned into a controlling force inflicting both verbal and emotional abuse on his family at home, mostly to his wife. This action caused a rift in the marriage and they both sort comfort and love from other quarters resulting in affairs, I did feel that the number of affairs could have been left out of the story line as it did not add any value to the plot.
Savannah's constant feeling of unworthiness and being unloved, and her strong belief in family values lead her to seek guidance from God and proof that he does really exist. In addition, seeking spiritual guidance and help from others, she did not expect the change and consequences it would bring about to her family's life.
