Book Review: A Mouse Tail on Mackinac Island by Summer Porter (Author), Maggie Chambers (Illustrator) 

"This was such a delight to read, and that's as an adult, just imagine reading it as a child! You get to visit Mackinac Island with the cutest mouse family and follow their travels to find their brand new home.

Filled with fun, and gorgeous illustrations, this imaginative story is brought to life to follow Mother, Father, Max, Millie, and Maizy as they explore the local home options they come across. I love that the island is real too! Obviously finding the island bookstore as one of their home options was a winner for me, but I don't think the cat agreed ;-)

The explanations on the bottom of the pages for words such as carriage, and ferry was very thoughtful of the author for children reading this book. I also enjoyed the positive spin on finding a new home for any child who has that worry, and how caring for animals can be rewarding too.

I am definitely looking forward to more adventures. "
